Abstract

Business process modeling, the activity of recording and representing the processes of an enterprise, is an important part of information modeling, which is the recording and depiction of the persistent and future arrangement of information assets of an organization in a structured or formal manner

The purpose of these models is varied; among other things, they provide a record of the information assets of the enterprise, the idea of creating a shared understanding of the business, and thus are important in problem solving and executing change.
