Prior to joining ZU in 2000, he held a Defense Scientist position with Defense R&D Canada – Valcartier. In conjunction with this position, he was appointed as Adjunct Professor and Associate Researcher with the Computer Sciences and Software Engineering Department and the Research Center on Geomatics both at Laval University in Quebec City, respectively. His research interests are primarily related to service sciences theories and methods, context-aware computing, and social computing.
Prof. Dr. Maamar has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences, is the founder of the International Symposium on Web Services, and regularly serves on the program and organizing committees of several international conferences and workshops.
Prof. Dr. Maamar graduated for his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from Laval University in 1995 and 1998, respectively.
