Klaus Vitt

Klaus Vitt (Dipl.-Ing. FH; Dipl.-Math. Univ.) served as the Chief Executive Officer of the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) from 2006 to June 2014.

Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer of German Federal Employment Agency, responsible for strategy, planning and governance, security and process management of Information Technology.

Mr. Klaus Vitt served as the Chief Information Officer and Member of Board of Management at T-Com since 2001. Mr. Vitt was responsible for information and process management at T-Com.

He began his career in 1979 at Sperry Univac. Since 1980, he served as a System Engineer at the Applied Data Research software house. He moved to Bertelsmann in 1982 as an international IT coordinator and took increasingly responsible positions in various areas, served as Head of the computing.

Mr. Klaus Vitt was recognized for his leadership with the “LEADing Practice Transformation project of the 2013 out of 120 compelling transformation projects. For his ability to transforme the largest service provider of the German labour market into a modern service provider and an efficiency-oriented service agency, meanwhile fulfilling important legal mandates. Bundesagentur für Arbeit currently has approximately 100.000 employees and during the course of the year 7,77 million people newly registered as unemployed while at the same time 7,72 million people found a new job.
The transformation initiative is a major undertaking with all odds against it. Meanwhile, with a structural approach and with surgical precision mapping all tasks, activities, functions, roles and processes across departments and organizations and interlinking the data with the information flow and services of 13.82 billion euros unemployment benefits in 2012.
