Wim PR Laurier

Wim Laurier is an associate professor in management information systems at Université Saint-Louis in Brussels (Belgium), and a voluntary post-doc researcher at Ghent University (Belgium).

In 2010-11 he worked as Instructor at the Department of Accounting and MIS of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware (USA), and at the Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University (USA). Wim holds a Bachelor (2004), Master (2006) and PhD degree (2010) in Applied Economic Sciences from Ghent University (Belgium). He is working on enterprise modeling using different methodologies at SMASH (Séminaire en Mathématiques Appliquées aux Sciences Humaines), which is also led by him.

Prof Laurier is a Board Member and Head of Enterprise Ontology Research & Development at the Global University Alliance. Providing a international platform where universities and thought leaders can interact to conduct research, comparison and explore leading practices, best practices as well as to develop missing practices.

His research interests include business and enterprise ontologies, conceptual modeling, enterprise information systems and business processes simulation models. Wim’s research has been presented at workshops and conferences such as OTM, ICEIS, EOMAS, ISAmI, VMBO, EIS and published in Decision Support Systems (DSS), Journal of Database Management (JDM), Information Systems Management (ISM), Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) and Advances in Soft Computing (AISC). In 2011, he was a workshop chair at the 5th International Workshop on Value Modeling and Business Ontology (VMBO).
